Lebanon, UN Warn Israel After Rise in Attacks on Peacekeepers
UN peacekeepers in southern Lebanon claimed that in the past one year a sharp rise in attacks by Israeli forces have been noticed. That includes not only drone-dropped grenades but also the tank fire near their positions.
An internal report seen by AP shows a rapid jump in such incidents in 2025 which raises concerns that Israel is trying to undermine the UN force and strengthen its military control along the Lebanon border. Israel denied the accusations and claimed to work to avoid harm.
After these reports, Lebanon and the UN sent a warning to Israel that any effort that ends or weakens the peacekeeping force could raise the high possibility of the destabilization of the border region.
